I just think it would be wonderful to make the city greener and more environmentally friendly for everyone

The population increases unrelentingly and the green spaces - parks, wild spaces and green corridors - are so important for the protection of nature and to the health and well being of all living in Southampton

To me, Southampton already feels like a National Park City. Full of green spaces, wildlife, and a community that cares. In Freemantle, green space was protected before houses were even built, and my kids enjoy it today. If that mattered in the 1800s, it matters even more now.

Friends of Riverside Park
Southampton has a large number of green and open places such as Riverside Park. we need to work together to protect and enhanced them.

Hope Street
The first time I ever visited Southampton I walked all the way through the city centre barely leaving a park - the parks were what led me to move to Southampton. In our trauma-informed work at Hope Street, the importance of access to green spaces cannot be understated. The physical and psychological benefits of our parks are huge and are a key element of the identity of Southampton!

Southampton does have some beautiful green spaces, but these aren't always cared for. There is huge potential to protect and improve the biodiversity already there for everyone to appreciate.
