Urban Wild
on the Common
12-6pm
Sunday 24th May 2026
Southampton Common
Urban Wild on the Common is our festival day takeover of a space in Southampton Common, transforming it into a fun filled celebration of our natural urban spaces and the people who take care of them.
Expect music, performances, art, fun learning activities, and perhaps a bike ride or two!
Running for the second year in a row, Urban Wild in the Common is now launching our Urban Wild Festival week - check back here for the programme announcement of what to expect on the day!
We have now closed our application form for Urban Wild on the Common on 24th May, but email urbanwild@nationalparkcity.org for any last minute queries.
Important Information
Things to remember when attending Urban Wild on the Common

Travel
Please travel by public transport to all events - Southampton has lots of ways to get around the city by foot, bicycle, rented e-scooter and public transport. Learn more by following this link to Southampton City Council's website: Getting around Southampton - Southampton City Council
Urban Wild on the Common will have very limited parking available due to stallholders using spaces for pick up and drop off - please contact urbanwild@nationalparkcity.org if you have any questions around this.
What to bring
Southampton National Park City encourages you to reduce your waste as much as possible - please bring your own reusable cups, containers and cutlery when visiting Urban Wild on the Common. To increase your enjoyment of the day, please also bring your own camping chairs or picnic blankets!
Dogs and Pets
If you are bringing pets to the festival, please keep dogs and other animals on a leash while on the festival site, unless there is a reasonable reason for guide dogs and other disability support dogs to be off leash.
Accessibility
We are always looking for ways to improve accessibility at our event. Stalls will be next to hardstanding as much as possible to maximise accessibility for wheelchair users. There will be accessible toilets available at Hawthorns Centre and at the tuck kiosk near the play area. There will be some adapted cycle provision at the event for people to try out all ability cycling. Please note, unfortunately there are no dedicated disability parking bays close to the Common. Any feedback on accessibility please email to urbanwild@nationalparkcity.org
Volunteer
We are looking for volunteers! We need volunteer stewards for Urban Wild on the Common on 24th May. Can you lend a hand for one of these shifts?
Morning: 8am - 12pm
Afternoon: 12pm - 4pm
Evening: 4pm - 7pm
If you can support, please fill in this volunteer form or get in touch with us via urbanwild@nationalparkcity.org.
