Urban Wild Festival 2025: Call for Event Hosts

We’re thrilled to announce Urban Wild, a citywide festival celebrating Southampton’s green and blue spaces and the people who care for them. Running from Monday 26 May to Sunday 1 June 2025, this week-long event will bring together residents, community groups, local businesses, and institutions to showcase Southampton’s parks, rivers, wildlife and people. Urban Wild aims to inspire connection, stewardship, and local action, highlighting the environmental benefits and community spirit that makes our city.

Led by Southampton National Park City and a dedicated organising committee with representatives of numerous local institutions, Urban Wild invites hosts —environmental groups, businesses, artists, educators, or general nature enthusiasts — to run events that celebrate Southampton’s unique natural heritage. From family-friendly nature walks and conservation activities to creative workshops and educational talks, your event will help demonstrate how people and nature can, and does, come to thrive together in our city.

Urban Wild will focus on three main themes:

  • Connecting People with Nature

  • Community and Environmental Stewardship

  • Local Action for Climate and Biodiversity

As a host, you’ll be in full control of your event from planning to delivery your event, with added support from our team for promotion. We welcome a diverse range of activities, as well as multiple proposals from groups or individuals. Read the full guide to hosting an Urban Wild event via the link below:

When you've got your plans worked out, all you need to do is register your event and then we'll be in touch. If you would like to speak to us before registering, reach us at urbanwild@nationalparkcity.org.

Let’s make Urban Wild 2025 a week to remember!

P.S. We can't wait to share more updates with you and ways to get involved as they emerge. To stay up to date, be sure to sign up to our mailing list.
